The Mount Wilson Observatory
On the San Gabriel Mountain Range dividing the Los Angeles basin from the Mojave desert, sits one of the worlds most famous observatories. Started in 1887, the Mt Wilson Solar Observatory sits among an array of television and radio towers serving the Los Angeles basin. On occasion the camera is directed over the city, towards the ocean, about 60 miles away.
